About My Role:
As a Graphic Design Student Assistant with the Alliance for African Partnership, I support visual communications that highlight MSU’s global engagement. I work closely with the communications coordinator to create branded materials, digital assets, and web content that elevate the visibility of AAP’s work across Africa and beyond. My contributions help tell the story of international collaboration in a clear, accessible, and compelling way.
Duties:
- Design promotional graphics and social media content aligned with AAP’s brand strategy to support ongoing programs and events.
- Create layouts for newsletters, flyers, and digital toolkits that are visually engaging and accessible.
- Update and maintain the AAP website, ensuring content accuracy and visual consistency across pages.
- Contribute to the quarterly newsletter by designing headers, curating images, and assisting with layout.
- Support the social media calendar by drafting captions, designing content, and monitoring post performance.
- Develop visual assets that communicate complex research partnerships in simple, compelling ways.
- Collaborate with a diverse team including faculty, staff, and international partners to align visuals with messaging goals.
- Implement feedback from the communications coordinator to revise designs and improve clarity and impact.
- Organize and maintain AAP’s visual asset library for use across communication channels.
