Tools Used: Canva, Figma
Timeline: 24 Hours (MSU Designathon 2025)
Award: Winner – Best Redesign
Project Brief: During Michigan State University’s first-ever 24-hour Designathon, I competed as a solo designer to solve a pressing issue for the Spartan community: the limitations of the current campus dining digital experience.
My project, Eat At State+, is a comprehensive mobile solution designed to bridge the gap between students and the dining halls. I identified that many students—particularly those with dietary restrictions—struggle with inaccurate menu data, a lack of consistent non-meat options, and vague nutritional information. In a high-pressure, 24-hour sprint, I reimagined the platform to empower students to make informed, satisfying, and inclusive meal choices.
About the Event
The MSU Designathon 2025 was MSU’s inaugural 24-hour design sprint, bringing together over 130 students to transform creative ideas into real-world solutions. Supported by industry leaders like Adobe, Meta, and Apple, the event focused on five key tracks: Gamification & Play, Accessibility & Inclusive Design, Social Design, Sustainability, and Education.
Outcome & Recognition
Out of 17 team submissions from over 10 universities, I was honored to receive the Best Redesign Award. This project demonstrated my ability to rapidly prototype a high-fidelity solution under tight deadlines and my commitment to Social Design and Accessibility—two of the competition’s core tracks.
